Essex Power is pleased to announce the 2023 recipients of the Powering Future Leaders Bursaries, aimed at supporting the educational journeys of local youth pursuing studies in the areas of study that support the utility industry and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).

For the third year, Powering Future Leaders Bursary has been available to local students to help alleviate the financial cost of post secondary education. Graduating secondary school students were encouraged to apply.  The four selected students exhibit academic commitment, community involvement and dedication:

Emma Hanley              University of Windsor | Honours Mechanical Engineering with Co-op and Aerospace

Ethan Hunt                   University of Waterloo | Computer Engineering

Kate Bouffard              University of Windsor | General Science

Maeve Gatt                  University of Guelph | Wildlife Conservation and Honours Biology

“We extend our congratulations to these recipients as they embark on their educational journeys,” said John Avdoulos, President & CEO of Essex Power Corporation. “Investing in the education and aspirations of young minds is an investment in our collective future. These bursaries not only recognize their achievements but also serve as a testament to our commitment to fostering innovation and excellence in STEM.”
